Strength and Stretch is a comprehensive workout class that focuses on strength training, also known as resistance training, to build and tone muscles. The class begins with a thorough warm-up and transitions into strengthening exercises using dumbbells and resistance bands. These exercises are designed to improve balance, muscle mass, bone and joint health, and overall mood while reducing the risk of chronic conditions. The session concludes with core-focused exercises and a relaxing cool-down stretch, leaving participants feeling strong, flexible, and rejuvenated.

We’re excited to introduce a new weekly art program led by local artist and educator Sharmi, founder of Kids Art Club in Westborough. With a background in advertising and graphic design from Boston University, Sharmi has been sharing her passion for art with children for over six years.  This engaging afternoon workshop offers young artists the opportunity to explore various mediums such as painting on glass, wood, and ceramics. Designed to foster creativity and imagination, the program provides a nurturing environment where children can develop their artistic skills and express themselves freely. Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the country and the demand to learn the sport is growing in New England. Pickleball is attractive because it is easy to play at any age or skill level and requires minimal instruction to be able to play a game and have fun. Unless reserved by the recreation department to run pickleball classes, the Lyman street pickleball courts are always open for public use.

WHAT IS ZUMBINI:  Zumbini is an inclusive early childhood education program for children ages 0-5. Created by Zumba and BabyFirst, our program uses music and movement to promote cognitive, social, emotional, and motor skill development for the children, all while creating the ultimate bonding experience for them and their caregivers. During this 45-minute session, we will use Latin-Fusion music to explore elements of dance and music. Each child will have access to instruments such as Bongos, Boom Whackers, Rhythm Sticks, and Scarves!    YOUR ZUMBINI INSTRUCTOR: Your instructor for this session will be Michelle Lirange. Michelle has worked in both Early Childhood and Education throughout her life. Most recently she worked for the Worcester Public Schools as a Wraparound Coordinator. After having her son, she realized the need for opportunities for her young child to play, explore, and engage with not only her but other children. Zumbini is the perfect opportunity for both, so she took the time to become a certified Zumbini Instructor. She is excited to lead this class!

With a background in advertising and graphic design from Boston University, Sharmi has been sharing her passion for art with children for over six years.  This engaging afternoon workshop offers young artists the opportunity to explore various mediums such as painting on glass, wood, and ceramics. Designed to foster creativity and imagination, the program provides a nurturing environment where children can develop their artistic skills and express themselves freely. This event is designed for adults (16+) with disabilities. Participants must register in advance. Caregivers, family members, and friends are welcome to attend and provide support, but please note that seating is limited. We’ll prioritize space for registered participants. Staff will be available to run the event, but we cannot provide one-on-one assistance. More Than The Event! Thursday Night Social is a place where adults with disabilities can feel a sense of freedom, belonging, and community.
