Social Skills and Dining Etiquette - Children's Dining Etiquette Workshop Present your child with the opportunity to feel self-reliant and confident in any social and dining situation by taking interactive lessons taught by a certified etiquette consultant. Our program is designed to teach children how to conduct themselves on the dining table in a restaurant, at home and when meeting new people. Teaching children proper social and dining skills helps them succeed at school, socially, and later, professionally. Topics include: The importance of greeting others, rules of introduction, the handshake, eye contact, and the power of a smile, self-respect and respect for others, proper telephone etiquette, hygiene and appearance, writing thank you notes, sportsmanship etiquette, how to sit at the table, understanding place settings, different dining styles including American and Continental, appropriate table conversation, what to do with unwanted food, interacting with servers and much more. These skills will help your child to be confident, polished and polite. Some food items will be served during class so that the children can practice what they learn. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated. www.newenglandschoolofprotocol.com
