The Snapology Approach
Snapology’s mission is to provide children an opportunity to engage in “playful learning” activities that will stimulate their creativity and spark an interest in learning. Our activities are designed to reinforce the core competencies and curricula being taught at each grade level. Research has shown that many of children’s best learning experiences come when they are engaged not simply in interacting with materials but in designing, creating, and inventing with them. Our activities offer students an environment where they are encouraged to create and interact with materials and technology enabling them to explore solutions through hands-on “playful” learning. Snapology instructors all have current criminal background checks and many are certified teachers.
Jr. Summer Adventures
Snapology Jr. Summer Adventures: Send your little learner to explore all about animals, dinosaurs, shapes, and colors with us! In this program, students will travel back in time to explore an Earth filled with stegosauruses, tyrannosauruses, and raptors. Students will also learn about animal habitats and why an animal’s home is important for survival. Along the way we will reinforce primary and secondary colors, shapes, and how to count the things we are playing with. Through stories, games, and building with LEGO® DUPLO® blocks, your little learner will be busy exploring the history of biomes on Earth while gaining critical social, emotional, and developmental skills without even realizing it!
Brick City
Brick City (STEAM): In this course, students will take their architectural skills to new heights as they practice city planning and the engineering design process. Campers are challenged to work together in teams and use LEGO® bricks to create the different buildings, attractions, vehicles, and architectural elements of a fully functioning city. Police cars, Life-Flight choppers, bridges, parks, hospitals, schools – it will all need to be thoughtfully and creatively built before time runs out! [Grades 2-4]
Amusement Park Adventures
Amusement Park Adventures (Mechanical Engineering): Children love going to amusement parks to experience the variety of fast, dropping, and spinning rides, but most haven’t thought or learned about the science that goes into building those rides and the people who are responsible for designing them. In this Snapology class, students will become mechanical engineers of their own LEGO® brick amusement park rides and will learn the core physics and engineering concepts used to make a ride thrilling. Rides will then come to life with LEGO® power hubs and electric motors! [Grades 1-3]
