Safe Sitter and Safe at Home Programs • Register • View Cart •

Heather Welch works as a full-time school nurse in Hopedale, MA and per diem at an
Urgent Care Center. She has been teaching CPR/AED and First Aid to the community for over 17 years. She has a passion for teaching others as she has over 26 years of medical experience. Her prior experience as a firefighter/paramedic combined with her nursing skills have enabled her to teach students of all ages and backgrounds. 

At the completion of the two day SafeSitter Progra, students will be certified in Pediatric First Air and CPR through the American Heart Association. 

Safe@Home Classes: (Originally Home Alone Safe Class)
  • Safe@Home is ideal for students that have expressed interest in assuming the responsibility of staying home alone. Students learn how to practice safe habits, how to prevent unsafe situations, and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. Students are also introduced to the Safe Sitter® First Aid Chart and learn a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses.

Safe Sitter Babysitting Extension Class (two days)
  • Safe Sitter - Day 1 and CPR/AED - Day 2
  • This will make it 5 hours total for training for SafeSitter class plus CPR certification. At the conclusion, students will be certified in Pediatric First Aid and CPR through the American Heart Association.
  • Wednesday & Thursday 12/18 & 12/19
  • 5:00pm-7:30pm
  • $145, two certifications (certificate of competition for SafeSitter and CPR)
  • Community Center, 1500 Union Street
  • Bring snack and drink
  • Ages 12+
