Game Based Education at Nomizo Learning Labs

Nomizo Learning Labs teaches problem solving, strategy/tactics, math fundamentals, and interpersonal learning to kids in Grades 1-12. Nomizo learning is highly interactive and engaging, using board games, puzzles, and peer-to-peer activities.

Power Yourself Details {Grades 1-6 & 7-12}
  • Options for sessions:
  • Grades 1-6, Monday - Friday , 4:00 - 5:25 pm, & Saturday, 10:00 - 11:25am
  • Grades 7-12, Monday - Friday, 3:15 - 4:40 pm, & Saturday, 11:30 - 12:55pm
  • *No Power Yourself Up programs during April Vacation (April 18th - 22nd)

  • If you register for 1 class, pick from 1 class above. If you register for 2 days you may pick any 2 classes above.
  • Please indicate, on the questions form, during registration which day(s) you will be attending.
  • Should you need to switch which day/classes you choose please speak to Nomizo Learning Labs staff directly.

  • Solidify your child’s academic foundation with this fun and interactive program that uses games, puzzles, investigations, and peer facilitation to teach critical thinking, fundamental math, rigorous analysis, and crucial social skills.
  • Grades 7-12
  • Power your teen up for college and life success. Students in this program learn not WHAT to think but HOW to think, through a variety of advanced games, problem solving challenges, and cooperative/interpersonal activities. This is a great way to get healthy, in-person interactions with peers.

Your kids will learn fundamental math, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence without even realizing it, all while playing games with peers, staying off screens, and gaining life skills. Work with friends to foil the evil wizard, use math and strategy to build the best kingdom, and unmask the enemy spies before they catch you!

  • Develop and enhance communication, persuasion, and diplomatic skills, all while playing a variety of exciting games full of detective work and intrigue. Outwit your peers to unmask that double agent!
  • Win the Presidency:
  • Do you have what it takes to become president? Learn about elections, civics and geography, all while trying to beat your friends to the White House!

  • Grades 1-6, 9-11:45am: Game Based Learning
  • Grades 7-12, 1-3:45pm: Fun with Economics: Learn economic and business concepts while playing social games with peers. Become a CEO and dominate the competition in a variety of industries!

  • July 4-8
  • Grades 1-6, 9-11:45am: Game Based Learning
  • Grades 7-12, 1-3:45pm: Refight History: Bring history to life as you refight important world and US wars. Can you defeat your peers and change the course of history?
  • Summer Session #3
  • July 11-15
  • Grades 1-6, 9-11:45am: Game Based Learning
  • Grades 7-12, 1-3:45pm: “Play” with Science: Explore science through interactive games with peers, socially engaging while learning how the world works. Work with others to stop a deadly disease from spreading around the world, develop a complete ecosystem, configure lasers, and more!
