Jewelry and Glass Beadmaking by Elsie Kaye Glassworks
Discover your own talents and have fun in a group setting learning to create your own beautiful pieces of art.
- Jewelry/ Metal Design
- We'll start each day with a different art demonstration- glass bead making, metal soldering, wirework, resin jewelry making and many more. Then, your child will learn the basics of jewelry design using glass beads, semi-precious gemstones, freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystals. This includes round loops and basic wire wrapping, how to work with jump rings and use clasps and crimp beads to finish ends. We will also incorporate some basic metalsmithing into our designs, with metal stamping and wirework. There will be a new project each day- from earrings, bracelets and necklaces to key chains and bookmarks. For students who have attended our camps before, we will be offering new projects and techniques to keep our campers engaged. A nut-free snack and drink also will be provided.
- Teen Flameworking Workshops
- During this exciting hands-on workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of glassbead making using a gas and oxygen fueled torch and soft glass. Each student will make between 5-10 beads each week. At the end of the session, participants will make a finished necklace or bracelet and keychain with the beads they've created. No experience is necessary and all materials are included.
